SENATOR JUMOKOL COMMENDS PRESIDENT TRUMP’S DECISION ON GENDER, URGES RECONSIDERATION ON WITHDRAWAL FROM WHO
January 24, 2025 – Washington, D.C.: Senator Felix Kolawole Ogunwale praised President Donald Trump’s recent stance on recognizing only two genders, male and female, during his inaugural address. The senator, known as “Jumokol,” extended accolades to President Trump for his decision to support this perspective.
However, Senator Ogunwale also urged President Trump to reconsider the U.S. withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO). Speaking to reporters in Geneva, WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic highlighted the significant impact of the U.S. departure on global health programs supported by the organization.
The decision by President Trump to exit the WHO has raised concerns among numerous experts, both within and outside the organization. They warn that critical health programs around the world could be jeopardized as a result of this move.
President Trump’s announcement of the U.S. departure from the World Health Organization came on Monday, citing the WHO’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and other international health crises as reasons for the decision.
